Presidential Mobility is proud to employ two Assistive Technology Professionals (ATPs) on staff at our Fayetteville location.
Ryan Read has been our wheelchair technician for over a decade and has become very skilled in seating and positioning. He is also very knowledgeable in conducting repairs for everything from patient lifts to complex rehab power chairs, and has a strong understanding of electronics and technical troubleshooting.
Robin Grider initially started with our company in 2008 as the receptionist and has since gained experience in obtaining medical documentation for insurance claims as well as knowledge of Assistive Technology and Durable Medical Equipment. She gained more experience with client evaluations and equipment deliveries after moving into the Office Manager position, where she assisted the ATP on staff at that time.
Robin and Ryan passed the ATP exam in 2014 and have since had many rewarding experiences by helping clients obtain the proper seating system to meet their needs, as well as maintain mobility and independence.
Leah LaReau has been our Home Modifications Director for about three years. She communicates with customers, care coordinators and contractors to ensure that the customer’s needs are correctly identified. Having worked closely with our contractor, Sidney Pianalto, Leah is trained to be able to determine what modification would better suit the needs of each individual. Leah works closely with the Veterans Affairs office in dealing with housing grants in addition to DHS housing grants.
What is an ATP?
The Assistive Technology Certification (ATP) recognizes demonstrated competence in analyzing the needs of consumers with disabilities, assisting in the selection of appropriate assistive technology for the consumer’s needs, and providing training in the use of the selected device(s).
ATP certification recognizes those who have reached an internationally accepted standard of knowledge in assistive technology and who demonstrate a commitment to provide only the highest ethical standards of practice.
